Andrew Pack served as executive director of the Variety Club, a charitable organization in Philadelphia, for more than a decade. In addition to his nonprofit work with the Variety Club, Andrew Pack led fundraising efforts at the International Financial Company. He maintains membership with the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP).
With more than 30,000 members across 230 worldwide chapters, the AFP strives to advance philanthropy through research, education, and advocacy. Established more than 25 years ago, it also encourages member development and growth through its high ethical standards.
To help its members share ideas, the AFP sponsors an international fundraising conference each spring. The 2016 event, scheduled for March 20 through 22 in Boston, Massachusetts, brings together more than 4,000 fundraising professionals. Attendees can partake in more than 150 educational sessions and visit more than 300 vendors at the exhibit hall. Some of the educational sessions cover topics such as fundraising through Facebook, trends in U.S. public policy, behavioral economics, and forensic fundraising. After hours, attendees can join in scheduled happy hours, a party at the Westin Boston Waterfront, and a Boston Red Sox baseball game at Fenway Park.
